Coins and Skins

Co-building a Web3 gaming superexchange and the $SKINS token

Table of Contents

Coins and Skins is a Web3 gaming "superexchange" that combines a crypto exchange for gaming and non-gaming tokens with an NFT marketplace for in-game assets. The founding team brings serious operating experience to gaming infrastructure, with more than two decades in the gaming industry between them. Jamie North (CEO), Sunny Dilgeer (COO, also at Block Alpha and previously at Chiliz, PwC, Kainos, CGI), and Aaron Hammond (CTO from January 2024, previously CTO of OneTrading and Bitpanda Pro). Collective backgrounds span Bitpanda, BTSE, Xbox, Microsoft, Chiliz, and MoonPay.

Gaming is no longer niche. Roughly 81.9% of internet users actively play games across platforms and devices ( Statista), which makes gamers one of the most promising adoption paths for blockchain. Coins and Skins set out to meet that audience where it already is, and Holdex's mission aligned closely enough with theirs that we teamed up to build the backbone of the superexchange on-chain.

Holdex came in for product co-building, smart contracts, and marketing — design and ship the token, build the product, run the launch.

What we shipped

The most concrete public deliverable is the $SKINS token launch on Ethereum. Holdex developed and deployed the token contract ( 0x509faABc284aa9770437423b9f133863Da9cb728) with an 800M total supply. The contract was designed to accommodate current and future platform requirements rather than locking the team into the launch-day surface.

Holdex also handled the presale-campaign preparation for the December 2023 first round and the January 2024 second round, alongside the gaming-partnership signups that fed the early ecosystem. The brief was clear: develop and deploy a $SKINS token that satisfies all current and future platform requirements, then carry that through to a successful token presale and the signup of the first gaming partnerships. The marketing-growth contribution sits on top of that work.

The story

The first presale round ran in December 2023, followed by a second phase in January 2024. The CTO announcement (Aaron Hammond joining from OneTrading and Bitpanda Pro) landed 8 January 2024. Holdex's role was the launch-side combination of product, token infrastructure, and marketing preparation.
